What a great turnout for the Easter Egg Hunt. Such an enjoyment seeing the smiles on the children’s faces. A special thank you to the LHHS track team for helping with the setup,monitoring and patch control. Appreciation to our local businesses sponsoring the patches.
 
Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary honored Sophomore of the Month Giana Scovone. As a sophomore, Giana refocused her dedication to her studies. She has enrolled in additional classes and will skip her junior year and become a senior next school year. Her ambitions are after graduating to travel the world using her photography skills. Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary continues to support our Local Food Bank. The Food Bank averages serving 90 people per day with 60 volunteers and are also authorized as a Food Stamp agent. They are very thankful of the donations from St Mary's, Starbucks, Dollar General, Pizza Hut and all the local grocery stores. They are always in need of grocery bags and can be dropped at their 1980 Kiowa location and welcome visitors to view their operation Mon-Thur from 10:00-12:00. Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary continues to recognize LHHS sophomores. This month's Sophomore of the Month is Jane Kaestner. Jane recently transferred from the State of Washington and after some adjustment has impressed her teachers with good grades and working hard to be part of LHHS. Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary continues our support to Meals On Wheels. Dwayne Billedeaus (President) explained they deliver to about 100 residents at their home and about 75 seniors that come to the dining hall. They currently have 65 volunteers that prepare, cook, serve and deliver. This is a lifeline to many that cannot easily prepare balanced meals for themselves. . Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary is happy to continue our support to the Lake Havasu High School Booster Club. The Booster Club supports the different athletic sports with needed uniforms and equipment for the Teams. This week, Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary presented to the Lake Havasu Unified School District and the six Elementary School Principals baskets of school supplies to assist teachers in helping with needed supplies to finish the school year. Each Principal was presented a basket containing rulers, pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, erasers, glue sticks, pouches for supplies, notebooks, highlighters and insulated lunch bags. Teachers will be able to distribute as needed to the students. Pictured are members of LHUSD, Elementary Principals and LHSR members.

In our continuing support, Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary is a proud sponsor of "Kids On The Colorado". Kids on the Colorado River is designed to revitalize local community student knowledge about a variety of Colorado River topics that have been missing from their education for decades. Through this powerful program, students who will be our future workforce or community leaders will now have the resources and information to support and nurture our community waterway as they continue into adulthood. Their goal is to partnership with local community non-profit organizations to identify and provide financial assistance to women for a variety of needs when all other resources have been exhausted. Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary is proud to include Mike Waters into the Rotary Family. Mike was born in Colorado and raised his family in California. Now retired, Mike is married with 3 children, 5 grand-children and 2 great grandchildren.

Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary is proud to announce Samantha Wilson as our Sophomore of the Month award. Her counselor nominated Samantha for overcoming challenges and has improved her attendance. Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary received a plaque for our sponsorship in this years Bearcat Pull. Officer's Derek Johnson and Nolan Smith spoke about the upcoming Bike Rodeo on January 11. This year they are hoping for 80-100 children ages 3-14 to practice and develop skills that will help them become better bicyclists.This year’s rodeo includes bicycle safety inspections, obstacle courses, a helmet fit check station, and a bicycle registration booth. Lake Havasu Sunrise Rotary presented the officers with a check to support their efforts.

Today's meeting was a filled agenda. Our honored guests were Michelle Holcomb (District Governor ) and Becky Goldberg. Michelle presented to Virginia Lattion (current president) and Carl Armato (President Elect) Rotary Bags and Becky presented to Baskar (Past President) and Virginia (Current President) Past and Current President pins. We also welcomed Brook Russell as our newest member to our Chapter.
 
 
 
 
 
What an amazing community event this morning at the Aquatic Center. Sunrise Rotary continued their support for the 17th Annual Back To School Event by serving breakfast to all who attended. Local Businesses donated school supplies from pencils to bike helmets and everything in between.
